Africa Through my Lens

Photography has been part of my life since I got my first camera at age ten – and it's been in my hands ever since.

Over the years I've turned my lens on family, travel, nature, mountains and landscapes, but my passion these days is birds – photographing them in their natural habitat, in their own world. What draws me to still photography above all else is its unique power to freeze a single moment in time, and to reveal the beauty of the natural world in ways we so often rush past.

For me, photography is never just about the shot. It's about the whole journey – planning an outing, travelling to a location, walking, waiting, stalking, then finding the frame. And then the equally rewarding work of processing, learning and sharing what I've captured.

I am also blessed that I get to do all this with Elle, my wife, companion and partner in birding, photography and life.

This website is where I bring all of that together. I hope you enjoy it.
